Text Lesson 4: To visualize the neurovascular bundle, the panoramic curve is drawn to create a panoramic view where you want to clearly trace its course. You can find the Foramen mandibulae in the axial view. Select Panoramic curve on the toolbar. When you activate this tool, the appropriate cursor appears. Create the starting point of the panoramic curve by pressing the left mouse button. Following the course of the mandibular canal, move through the axial slices using the up/down arrow keys or roll the mouse towards the Foramen mentale. While tracing the entire path of the canal, set intermediate points of the panoramic curve. Set the end point of the panoramic curve by double-clicking or by pressing the right mouse button. After creating the panoramic curve, a panoramic view where the mandibular canal is traced will appear. You can correct the mandibular canal by moving the points of the panoramic curve. To know which point to move, click the Section point tool at that place of panoramic view, where there is no trace of the mandibular canal course. At the axial view, the desired point is marked by a dotted line in the cross-section view. In order to build the nerve, select the Nerve tool from the toolbar. When you activate this tool, the appropriate cursor appears. Create a starting point by left clicking in the window of the base panoramic view. Then, following the mandibular canal, set intermediate points of the nerve by pressing the left mouse button. You can finish the construction by pressing the right mouse button or set the end point of the nerve by double-clicking. The nerve is automatically visualized in the 3D view.
